The Day My Life Changed

This post has been long overdue. As many of you know Natalie delivered our daughter, London Emma (7lbs 14oz, 20") at 12:53am on Saturday, April, 5th. in that moment my life was changed in a way that I have never felt before and may never since feel again. Sure college, marriage, and different jobs have brought about a degree of change. And of course, lord willing, when we have more offspring there will be a shift in our lives, but nothing absolutely nothing can compare to the moment that London and her cone head graced us with her presence. See when I went to college i had already been a student and an individual. Before getting married Natalie and I had known each other for over almost 7 years and dated for 4 years. And to be honest when it comes to jobs, well to some extent a job is a job and my identity is not wrapped up in a title or job description anyway. All of the above pale in comparison to being a father. There may be more kids but London will always be the first, the one who bestowed upon us the title of parents and one that we will never shed. over the past few days Nat and I have reminisced about our days in college and our wedding; still nothing could have ever prepared us to feel the way that we do right now. We are grateful for all of our family and friends that have been so supportive and whom we will rely on for continued support as parents. More than anything I cannot tell you how proud I am of my wife. Who after 23 hour of labor and 2 1/2 hours of pushing never gave up. What a Journey it has been and will continue to be! We hope that soon you get to me the new little lady in our lives.

snail's pace

I am so sick of classes. The past month has gone by so slow, and I blame the long tiring days of lecture. No doubt the clock is ticking slower in more ways than one. First of all Natalie has had a fever on and off for the past week. My guess is that being 34 weeks preggo with a fever and cough is not too much fun. Mixed with a week full of term papers and exams, no dice. Perhaps the anticipation of a little baby shooting out of my wife has the time crawling. Any which way if someone could please speed up the clock it would be much appreciated I can’t take any more of February. The good news is that March is tomorrow.
…Holy Crap Drew Pete is getting married soon!

Snap Shot

Today we went and got what is called a 4D Ultrasound. You may be thinking what in the world is that. Others may think why waste your money. In response to the former question, a 4D Ultrasound will show you a picture of the baby in 3 dimensions as opposed to the 2 dimensions of squiggly black and white lines that you normally get. I know that 3D doesn’t equal 4D so that I cannot explain. As far as the money, all I can say is totally worth it! To be able to see the face of your unborn child is very exciting. In fact I am still in amazement with what actually took place. And thus we have begun the great debate to decide who our daughter looks more like. For now I will leave it for you to decide.
