Edible Underwear

A couple of weeks ago I began to notice that our dog Augustine (Augie) would grab dirty clothes out of the laundry basket and run. It became a fun little game, well at least for Augie. He immediately discovered that it was easier to grab smaller articles of clothing, so it was natural that his favorite thing to get away with was Natalie’s underpants, also known as panties. This little game became such a regular occurrence in the Davis home that it was not uncommon to spot Augie running around the house with underwear hanging out of his mouth. Yesterday, I was watching a game and typing on the computer when I heard Natalie scream from the laundry room. I looked up and in came Augie with black lace hanging out of his mouth. Without hesitation I ran over to retrieve the goods, when to my surprise the unthinkable happened I watched Augie make a swallowing motion. I opened his mouth and sure enough no undies. Did that really just happen? What are you a goat? Into the garage I ran to tell Natalie. Only to be informed that she thought he had eaten a different pair earlier in the day. End of story? Not even close. At 11:50pm I was awaken by a sharp bark. This could only mean one thing, Augie had an uncontrollable bowel movement, aka “the runs”, and so I ran him outside and then back to his kennel. Then again at 12:30am another bark, at 12:42am another bark, in all between 11:50pm and 2:30am Augie had to go out 6 or 7 times. Most of the time not much happened, but it was apparent that his stomach was probably suffering from his new favorite food group, thong. Then at 3:05am I woke up, no bark, just a weird feeling. I turned on the light and there it was in Augie’s kennel, a pile of vomit with 2 pair of women’s underwear poking out. Amazing, never quite seen anything like it, and for now I think that Augie will stay out of the laundry, at least for a couple of days.

Baylor Pride

This morning I woke up and had college days on the mind. I began to reminisce and go through old pics, and before I knew it I wanted to be back there. I am still not quite sure why maybe it was the idea of living with very little responsibility. Whatever it was it led me to the beautiful world of YouTube. Upon searching “Baylor” I found sports highlights campus tours, stuff that continued to feed my nostalgia. Then I came across this video:
I can no longer think fond of my college days. Well, at least not for a day or maybe a week. I mean wow, what are these guys thinking! I can admit that I have done the lip sinking boy band thing on film. (you know back in the day) However, at least I was smart enough not to post it for the world to see. The only redeemable thing about the video came about the time I gave in and pushed stop, that's right a killer dance sequence at about the 2:32 mark. if you happened to make it that far in the video you were pleasantly surprised. Oh well, for now the Baylor Asian Backstreet Boys (there name not mine, i.e. YouTube) have ruined my pleasant memories of that good ol Baylor Line.

I Love Dwight

At around 2:45 this afternoon I was sitting in my office answering e-mails when my phone began to ring. I noticed that the caller id was “unavailable” so I thought, “if it is important they’ll leave a message.” Not a few seconds latter the red light came on to indicate that I had a voicemail. To my surprise when I checked the message it was none other than Dwight Schrute from Dunder Mifflin calling to check in. I was overjoyed with laughter and amazement from the surprise. It did not take long to discover that the mischievous and crafty Staci Ashby was behind the whole thing. I recommend you check it out for yourself on the Office DVD site. And by all means necessary enjoy.

Forget the Routine

As I walked the dog tonight, somewhere between “don’t eat that” and “do your business”, I realized that I need a new hobby. I am tired of the routine. Sure most of the routine is field with things I need to do or get done, but I need to break it up a little more. Tonight I tried to read but couldn’t focus and the thought of turning on the TV makes me nauseous. Besides is reading or studying a hobby? Maybe, but I need something different. Yea, I know that perhaps I should work out, however if that were my hobby I would end up going to GNC 3 days a week and I am not going to be that guy. (no offense if you are that guy) So what could be my new hobby? I am pretty sure that I might be a bit too old for model cars. Scrap booking could be an option. Except that’s already my wife’s hobby. You know what forget it maybe I need some sleep. Wait it is Thursday right…is The Office on yet? I think that will work, at least for know, but a new hobby sounds nice. If I could only figure out what that would be. Until then I guess I can get my thrills from walking the dog and watering the plants.
