Presidents caught on tape

Recently I was introduced to a website that catalogues presidential conversations. (All from Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon) I have been spending hours listening to various phone conversations and meetings. My personal favorite has to be LBJ. Whether he is ordering a pair of pants or giving someone the “Johnson treatment” it is always guaranteed to satisfy. Especially when talking to Jackie Kennedy just days after her husband’s assassination, such smoothness. I am not sure what got me so into listening to these tapes. It could be the upcoming elections or perhaps John Kerry’s recent insights, but whatever it is, I have really enjoyed exploring these old recordings. Dive in and see what you can find yourself!
